This stove is a partial oxidation gas generator stove. It produces Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide, Methane and other cracked organic compounds. The same principle is in our books on gasification of wood for engines and cars. Yes, you CAN run a car off this type of system and over 1 million vehicles did this during WWII… it can still work today

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago. I’ve been experimenting with it quite a bit since then, burning big chunks, small chunks, sticks stacked vertically, sticks stacked horizontally, hardwoods, softwoods, pine needles, pine cones, wood pellets, etc, etc.
I like it a lot. It boils water faster than our GE gas range. Its ultimate use will be to heat bath water at our cabin. Ponderosa pine needles carpet the ground inches thick there.
