Go to Home Depot ...
Go to Home Depot for a free ceramic tile class. Installing tile is a lot easier than I thought it would be.

I put a tile pad in ...
I put a tile pad in the corner of my livingroom for my stove. Go to Home Depot when they offer a free tile class. I have the stove angled from the corner and the tiles run parallel to the front and sides of the stove. It would have been easier to just tile a triangular corner area with the tiles aligned with the walls, but it looks good the way I have it. Because I saw how easy it is to put tile in I tiled my whole kitchen and the hall and foyer.

What size pellet ...
What size pellet stove did you get? How many square feet? The hearth you got at Home Depot, was it a tile or something else?
I am looking at getting one for my place but questioned if I needed to spend $300 for a tile hearth.

I bought the pad at ...
I bought the pad at Home Depot, marked down 50%.
The pipe gets VERY hot, so yes. It also insures a very good draft for the stove

That is what we did ...
That is what we did in our house. Put in a wall fan, since ours is a split level home and a door fan that blows warm air into our stairway. Now heats the whole home.
